Webinar: Building Information Modelling (FireBIM)

Details

The researchers will present FireBIM, an international research and innovation project funded under the ITEA 4 programme, running from November 2023 to August 2027. The project brings together 22 partners from five countries to address the challenge of fragmented national fire safety regulations. FireBIM aims to harmonize these regulations through a shared, open-source, web-based platform that utilizes Building Information Modelling (BIM). By enabling automated compliance checking and early-stage fire safety assessment, the platform empowers design teams to create safer and more cost-effective buildings, while facilitating cross-border collaboration. A key innovation in FireBIM is the digital interpretation of fire codes using semantic technologies. This involves structuring and translating normative fire safety requirements into machine-readable rules, enabling automated reasoning and validation within BIM environment.

This webinar is hosted by the Life Long Learning activity in Nordic Fire and Safety Network.
