Webinar: Hydrogen Ship Safety - Vent Mast Design

About the webinar:

You are invited to the final webinar of the H2Vent project, which explores innovative solutions for the safe venting of hydrogen on ships

Hydrogen is emerging as a key energy carrier in the transition to fossil-free shipping. Although hydrogen-powered vessels are still few, the field is rapidly evolving, and international regulations are being developed to ensure safety and functionality. One critical safety aspect is the venting of compressed hydrogen in emergency situations, such as fire, to prevent pressure vessel explosions.

The H2Vent project has focused on designing safe vent mast solutions for the hydrogen-powered ship concept Beluga24, addressing risks such as jet flames and gas cloud explosions

Join us to learn about the project’s findings, proposed design solutions, and implications for future hydrogen ship safety. This project is funded by Trafikverket (TRV2024/29444).

This webinar is hosted by the Life Long Learning activity in Nordic Fire and Safety Network.
